Saturday Is National Get Outdoors Day - Free State Park Admissions

This Saturday is National Get Outdoors Day. The great thing about living at Salem Green is that there are a lot of outdoor places to play that are close to home. Check out some of the ideas below to find a way you can join in the National Get Outdoors Day festivities.

"Road" Biking
We are close to city, county, and regional bike trails.
It's just across the street at Salem Park! The link is a review of the great mountain biking trails pretty much in our back yard at Salem Park.
Lebanon Hills Regional Park has free admission for hiking, and they have canoes and kayaks available to rent from the Visitor Center for some pleasant lake paddling.

Camping And All Of The Above
Visit a state park without needing to buy a vehicle permit

From the DNR's website:
Minnesota's 76 state parks and recreation areas are all offering free admission this day, and many of them have planned special activities to introduce you to the fun of geocaching, kayaking, camping, and other family-friendly activities.

Camping In South St. Paul
That's right - nearby South St. Paul is having a community camp-out in a park.
Activities will include: Community bonfire with s'mores and live music, flashlight scavenger hunt, board games and free popcorn in the pavilion.
